Primary 1 Registration Phase 3 2025: Results Date, Vacancies & Tips

Posted on September 6, 2025 by Editor

The highly anticipated Phase 3 of the Primary 1 registration exercise for the 2025 intake is here. This phase is open to all Singaporean Citizens, Permanent Residents, and international students, making it one of the most competitive rounds.

If you’re a parent preparing for this crucial phase, understanding the number of vacancies left at each school and the key deadlines is key to making an informed decision. To help you, we’ve compiled the official vacancy numbers released by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and, just as importantly, identified which schools have affiliations that offer a potential pathway to a related secondary school or junior college.

Key Dates for Phase 3 (International Students)

For international students, this is the only chance to register for a Primary 1 spot. Mark these critical dates in your calendar:

  • Registration Period: Thursday, 10 July 2025, at 9:00 AM to Friday, 11 July 2025, at 4:30 PM.
  • Results Announcement: Friday, 18 July 2025.

Registration must be done in person at the school of your choice. Due to high demand, it is strongly advised to choose schools with higher vacancies to increase your chances of success.

Key Observations from the Vacancy List

  • Highest Vacancies: Schools like Northoaks (184), Lianhua (174), Changkat (168), and Pei Tong (153) have the most vacancies. For international students, these schools represent a significantly higher chance of securing a spot.
  • Extremely Low Vacancies: Proceed with extreme caution! Schools like Jing Shan (1), St. Stephen’s (1), Teck Ghee (1), CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace (2), and White Sands (3) will see intense balloting. It is generally not advisable for international students to apply to these schools in Phase 3 due to the near-impossible odds.
  • Affiliated Schools with Low Vacancies: The affiliated CHIJ schools (Our Lady Queen of Peace and Our Lady of Good Counsel) have very few spots (2 and 5, respectively), indicating high demand due to their affiliation.

Guide to Affiliated Schools

For many parents, securing a spot in an affiliated school is a long-term educational strategy. The following primary schools have a direct affiliation to specific secondary schools and/or junior colleges.

Note: Not all affiliated primary schools have vacancies in Phase 3. From the Phase 3 list, the affiliated schools with vacancies are: CHIJ (Kellock), CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel, CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace, Montfort Junior, and St. Anthony’s Canossian.

Final Tips for Phase 3

  1. For International Students: This is your one shot. Be strategic. Prioritize schools with high vacancy numbers (e.g., those above 100) to dramatically increase your odds. Have 2-3 backup options in mind before you go to register.
  2. Check Your Distance (SC/PRs): For citizens and PRs, use the OneMap website to check the exact distance from your home to your shortlisted schools. This is the most critical factor in balloting.
  3. Have a Backup Plan: Don’t put all your hopes on one school, especially if it has very few vacancies. List choices where you have a realistic chance.
  4. Look Beyond Affiliations: While affiliations are attractive, many non-affiliated schools provide an excellent, holistic education. Consider the school’s culture, programmes, and proximity to your home.

We wish all parents the very best of luck in this important journey! May you secure a place in a school that is a perfect fit for your child.
